JUAN MEZA-LEON (MX)
Juan Meza-Leon is a self-taught artist from the port town of Ensenada, Baja CA, Mexico. From a very early age he showed interest in art and storytelling. His passion for films, music and comic books; and the inspiration found within them, was the motivation behind pursuing a career in the industry. After working in several live action productions as a Set PA at the Fox Baja Studios in Rosarito, he got his first professional Storyboard job back in '99, on a small production ("The Expendables", USA Networks) shot on location in Mexico. From there, his artistic journey took off. Doing the storyboards for shows like "Tremors: The Series", several small productions and music videos. He eventually made his way to the U.S. where his trajectory in animation began when his portfolio got him signed with a talent agency in L.A. This allowed him the opportunity to work as a Story Artist in various animated projects for WB Animation, Nickelodeon, Bento Box, Disney and Hasbro to name a few. While at Nickelodeon he got promoted to Director where he got to work on the first season for "Kung- Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness" and "TMNT" Juan went on to work for the show "Rick and Morty" as a Story Artist on the first season, then returned as Director for Season 2 & 3. While working as A.D. for Matt Groening's "Disenchantment" he also directed the Run the Jewels music video "Oh, Mama" His currently finished working at WB Animation on the upcoming "Harley Quinn" animated series for DC Universe.
